Finding Connection and Transformation

When asked about why we got into the salon industry, we can't help but mention the deep connection we feel with our clients. During the challenging times of the pandemic, we realized how much we missed that personal connection. Having to reschedule appointments and have conversations over the phone was tough because we didn't get to see our clients face-to-face. However, through these experiences, we learned about the importance of community and the role we play in our clients' lives.

Working with people and witnessing the transformation on their faces when they see the results of our work is incredibly rewarding. Sometimes, it is a simple touch-up, but it can make our clients feel better about themselves. We take pride in being able to help them in that process. It's not just about hair; it's about boosting their confidence and making them feel good.

Being a Part of Life's Events

One of the most fulfilling aspects of our job is being able to go through life's events with our clients. We have had the privilege of seeing families grow and evolve over time. From styling the hair of parents to now styling their children's hair, we have become a part of their journey. While we haven't reached the stage of styling grandchildren's hair yet, we know that when that time comes, it will be a truly special moment.

We are there for our clients during the big events in their lives, such as weddings and the birth of their children. But we are also there during the sad times, providing support and a listening ear. Our clients trust us, and they often share their deepest thoughts and emotions with us. It's like therapy in many ways. We are grateful for the opportunity to be there for them, not just as hairstylists but as compassionate listeners.

Growing as Professionals and Individuals

Eight years ago, we took the leap and bought the business. We wanted to grow in our careers and as individuals. We also wanted to create an environment where our team members could thrive and achieve their goals. Seeing them succeed and accomplish things they never thought possible brings us immense joy.

Giving Back to the Community

At Create Salon and Spa, we believe in giving back to the community that has supported us throughout the years. We organize various initiatives throughout the year to make a positive impact. Some of the ways we give back include:

• Backpack Buddies: During the summer, we collect food items for the Backpack Buddies program. This program ensures that children who rely on school lunch programs have enough to eat during the summer months.
• Sleep in Heavenly Peace: We recently held a bedding drive to collect twin bedding, sheets, comforters, and pillows for the Sleep in Heavenly Peace organization. This group builds beds for children who don't have a bed of their own.
• Food Drive: Every November, we host a food drive to collect food for our local food pantry. This helps ensure that families in need have enough food during the holiday season.
• Back-to-School Haircuts: We have provided free haircuts for children going back to school. This helps them feel confident and ready for the new school year.
• Job Seeker Haircuts: We also offer free haircuts for individuals who are looking for their first job or a new job. We believe that looking good can boost their confidence and increase their chances of success.

Involvement in a Nonprofit Organization

In addition to our salon's initiatives, we are actively involved in a nonprofit organization called S.O.K. (Support Our Kids). As the president of S.O.K., we work to raise funds for the community and support local schools. Our upcoming event in November will focus on providing essential products, such as hygiene items, to schools. We want to ensure that students have access to these necessary items, which can often be expensive.

At Create Salon and Spa, we are driven by our passion for the salon industry and the impact we can have on people's lives. We love working with our clients, witnessing their transformations, and being there for them during life's events. Giving back to the community is also a core value for us, and we actively participate in various initiatives to make a positive difference. We are proud to be a part of the salon industry and the positive impact it can have on individuals and communities.
