P.S. Beauty Lounge, Downtown Fond du Lac
What’s it like to get a custom spray tan from someone who had never had one before last month.
First, I really didn’t realize it was an actual person. I’ve gotten spray tans a handful of times, so this wasn’t my first rodeo, but I was still expecting a booth. The night before I went, I realized someone would be doing it by hand and we were about to get… personal. Had a quick freak out over that, then reminded myself she does this all the time and probably won’t think I’m a horrible human because I didn’t paint my toes right before.
I pulled up, at the wrong spot. Talk about being on brand. I got out and loaded up and everything, but it was a little further down. I realized this, got back in my car and drove down to where it was. (I figured the less I had to walk around braless after, the less risk of injury or humiliation.)
Got to the right spot, and the owner-Payton was so warm and welcoming. Right when I walked in, she greeted me, and I got to take in how nice she had made the place look! Many spots in downtown feel like they’ve not been touched in years, but this one clearly had some love and care put in. She had black walls, with accents of greens and golds. Very trendy and gave it a really nice touch.
She took me back to the booth and explained what to do. I stripped down and assumed position. She put some lotion on areas that were dryer, instructed me how to stand and what she was doing, and they she sprayed! It doesn't spray warm… which she did warn. I was thankful it wasn’t too cold of a day. Payton continued to instruct me and then we were done!
I got dressed, paid and she gave care instructions-for those of us like me who need a visual and list. I was instructed when I would need to shower, we chatted and I headed out!
Overall, great experience and an excellent space. I’m excited to watch her business grow. She clearly has great ideas, is a driven individual and puts into place upcoming trends so Fondy is staying up on the times.
